Was founded in 1998 by Dwayne G. Honoré, the youngest son of the late Harvey Honoré, Sr. a long-time, respected leader in the Baton Rouge business community, Harvey established a very lucrative and successful construction company back in 1957.
D. Honoré Construction is a privately held Corporation operating as a diversified general contracting and construction company.
Over the years, D. Honoré Construction, Inc. has completed a variety of construction projects totaling over $150 million, including providing services to publicly traded corporations, federal, state, and local governmental agencies, schools and churches, as well as privately-held large, medium, and small commercial businesses alike.
As a member of a family that has been a leader in the commercial construction industry since 1957, Dwayne, through D. Honoré Construction, Inc. is privileged to continue a 50-year commitment to excellence in the construction field. As a result of this long-standing experience, one could say we know the construction business “from the foundation to the roof and everything in between.”

Continuing a Tradition
Dwayne G. Honoré founded the Company in 1998 as a Louisiana corporation.
Dwayne is the youngest son of the late Harvey Honoré, Sr., a long-time and well-respected leader in the Baton Rouge, LA business community who established a highly lucrative and very successful construction company, which began operations in 1957.
Dwayne and DHC have been involved in the completion of a variety of construction projects totaling over $225 million that includes providing services to: Publicly traded corporations, federal, state, and local governmental agencies, schools and churches, and privately-held large, medium, and small commercial businesses alike.

Owner
Dwayne G. Honoré is the founder and President of D. Honoré Construction, Inc. A native of Baton Rouge, LA, Dwayne grew up in a family respected for its experience and expertise in the commercial construction business. A graduate of Catholic High School of Baton Rouge, Dwayne earned his Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Construction Management from Louisiana State University. With over 24 years of professional experience in the commercial and general contracting field, Dwayne is both dedicated to and passionate about the industry. A student of the business, he grew up in the construction sector acquiring comprehensive knowledge by working on job sites every summer, on holidays, and most days off from school.
At the young age of 18, Dwayne became a twenty-five percent owner in Harvey Honoré Construction Company, Inc. a commercial construction firm started by his father in 1957. Dwayne began his tenure with Harvey Honoré Construction by working as an estimator and, later, as a member of the management team in the role of project manager for a wide range of projects. While at Harvey Honoré Construction, Dwayne successfully completed projects for Harrah’s Casino, the U.S. Postal Service, State of Louisiana, Corps of Engineers and numerous other private owners.
In 1998, he started D. Honoré Construction, Inc. and has since successfully completed projects such as the Lamar-Dixon Expo Center and for clients that include Folgers Coffee, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, St. James Place, Robert Day & Associates, JTS Interests, Moe’s Southwest Grille, BREC (Recreation & Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge), Perfect Bass, Vivid Ink, Perkins Rowe as well as other established businesses and owners. In 2008 and 2009, D. Honoré Construction, Inc. was included in the Inc. 5,000 annual list of fastest-growing private companies in the country. In 2009, Junior Achievement and the Baton Rouge Business Report recognized D. Honore Construction as Company of the Year, with 100 employees or less.
Active in the community, Dwayne’s civic and professional service includes the Catholic High School Alumni Association Board of Directors, Catholic High School Men’s Club, Baton Rouge Area Chamber Leadership Class of 2009-2010, East Baton Rouge Parish Workforce Investment Board, Baton Rouge Rotary, YMCA Board of Directors, CABL Leadership Louisiana Class of 2008, Family Business Institute Roundtable, St. Jude Advisory Council, Serra Club, and Legatus. He is also a member of the New Orleans Chapter of Entrepreneur’s Organization and the Baton Rouge Better Business Bureau Board of Directors.
He is married to the former Kathy York of San Antonio, TX and they are the proud parents of four children: Daniel, Travis, Haley, and Mitchell.
